FOLLETO "DERECHOS DE LA MUJER SON DERECHOS
HUMANOS"
El 8º folleto de formación de
Justicia y Paz "Derechos de la mujer son derechos humanos " está ahora
disponible. Esto es el fruto de un proyecto de colaboración de la
Comisión de OP Internacional para la Justicia y la Paz y el Cuidado de la
Creación, y de Hermanas Dominicanas Internacional (DSI). Su objetivo es
presentar hechos, acciones y/o acontecimientos que durante los años han formado
la historia de mujer en su búsqueda difícil y persistente de la igualdad. Esto
también procura proporcionar instrumentos para permitir tanto a hombres como
mujeres reflexionar sobre los desafíos que nos llaman a las relaciones de
mutualidad en la misión de Jesús, tan fielmente seguido por Domingo y
Catalina.
Basadas en el contorno aprobado en la
Comisión De Justicia y Paz que se encuentra en Roma en 2001, seis hermanas
dominicanas, especializadas en la realidad de mujer, trabajaron
sobre los capítulos diferentes: Petronille Kayiba (República democrática de
Congo), Arlene Flaherty (los Estados Unidos), Marie Henry Keane (Inglaterra),
Leonila Bermisa (Filipinas), Maritze Trigos (Colombia), y Luisa Campo quien
también coordinó el proyecto. Las autoras, que vienen de todos los continentes,
trabajaron juntas y compartieron comentarios y críticas. Y ellas hicieron esto
en el convento de formación de los frailes en Quito, Ecuador, donde los frailes
sirvieron a las hermanas de modo que ellas pudieran pensar y escribir. Nuestra
esperanza es que este folleto acrecentará la colaboración entre hombres y
mujeres en la Familia dominicana. Por lo tanto esto tiene que ser usado por
todos nosotros, hermanas y hermanos igualmente.
Para ayudar al facilitador en el empleo
del folleto, hay algunas sugerencias al principio. Las preguntas proporcionadas
pueden ser usadas para discusiones y los capítulos pueden ser estudiados en una
o varias sesiones. Cada capítulo finaliza con un rezo/celebración, un glosario y
una bibliografía. Unos apéndices y muchas referencias pueden ser encontrados en
las páginas web de la Comisión Internacional dominicana para la Justicia y la
Paz y DSI.

rezando estos textos y diálogo sobre ellos, siguiendo a Jesús en sus
encuentro con mujeres según las páginas de los Evangelios. Puede este
folleto ayudarnos a realmente hacernos compañeros iguales en nuestras vidas

PUBLISHED " WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS "
The 8th Justice and Peace formation booklet
"Women's Rights are human Rights" is now available. It is the fruit of a
collaborative project of the International OP Commission for Justice and Peace
and Care of Creation, and of Dominican Sisters International (DSI). Its
objective is to present facts, actions and/or happenings that through the years
have formed women's history in their difficult and persistent quest for
equality. It also seeks to provide tools to enable both men and women to reflect
on the challenges that call us to relationships of mutuality in the mission of
Jesus, so faithfully followed by Dominic and Catherine.
Based on the outline approved in the Justice and Peace
Commission meeting in Rome in 2001, six Dominican sisters, knowledgeable about
women's reality, were asked to work on the different chapters: Petronille Kayiba
(Democratic Republic of Congo), Arlene Flaherty (United states), Marie Henry
Keane (England), Leonila Bermisa (Philippines), Maritze Trigos (Colombia), and
Luisa Campos (Dominican Republic), who also coordinated the project. The
authors, coming from all the continents, worked together and shared comments and
critiques. And they did this at the formation convent of the friars in Quito,
Ecuador, where the friars served the sisters so that they could think and write.
Our hope is that this booklet will advance collaboration between men and women
in the Dominican Family. Therefore it needs to be used by all of us, sisters and
brothers alike.
To assist the facilitator in the use of the booklet, there
are some suggestions at the beginning. The questions provided can be used for
discussions and the chapters may be studied in one or more sessions. At the end
of each chapter are a prayer/celebration, a glossary and a bibliography. A few
appendixes and many references can be found in the web pages of the
International Dominican Commission for Justice and Peace and
DSI.
We invite ourselves into a spiritual journey as we pray
these texts and dialogue about them, as we follow Jesus in his encounters with
women throughout the Gospel pages. May this booklet help us to really become
equal partners in our daily lives as Dominicans
