OP al finalizar servicio en DVI

Queridos
hermanos y hermanas en Santo Domingo,
Ayer
he terminado mi servicio en DVI y he pasado la antorcha a Fr. Enrique Sariego, secretario del Movimiento Juvenil Dominicano,
hasta que se encuentre una hermana para tomar mi lugar.
Me
despido, agradeciendo el apoyo y la cooperación de cada uno y cada una durante
un servicio que para mi fue tan desafiante y gozoso. Gracias a los que me
confiaron la tarea de fundar DVI en 1999 junto con Frs.
Jerry Stookey, y sus
sucesores, Pablo Romo, y Michel Van Aerde. A las varias secretarias en Argentina y Roma, Carola
Arrue, Patrizia Morgante, Lorena Mancini,
Teresita Alfano,
y los numerosos promotores en cada país que han tenido la visión
necesaria para descubrir el potencial de DVI para nuestra Familia Dominicana.
En
DVI encontré un proyecto que exigía todos mis talentos. Necesito un campo
amplio de trabajo. Y DVI ocupó plenamente mi atención, especialmente durante
estos casi dos años que he residido en Roma, dándole una dedicación total.
Han
sido para mi un don de Dios los dominicos y las
dominicas, entre ellos las prioras generales, los provinciales, que he conocido
en tantos países, a veces en su lugar de misión, o en las asambleas y
encuentros. ¡Qué privilegio poder
ofrecer ayuda y apoyo a la misión dominicana!
Otro don de Dios fue tener la amistad de los promotores generales en
Santa Sabina quienes "ensancharon
el espacio de mi tienda" con sus compromisos y redes internacionales.
Pero
sobre todo, mi agradecimiento a los mas de 40
voluntarios, cuyo entusiasmo me ha inspirado.
¡Son predicadores globales! Les
felicito y espero que se crucen nuestros caminos algún día.
¡Uno
siembra, otro recoge, pero es Dios quien da el crecimiento!

Dear
brothers and sisters,
As
of yesterday, my service to DVI is ended and the torch is being passed to Fr
Enrique Sariego, secretary of IDYM, until a Sister is found to take my place.
So
I take my leave of you and thank you for your support and cooperation during
what was for me a most enjoyable and challenging ministry. My thanks to those who entrusted the founding
of DVI to me in 1999, along with Frs Jerry Stookey, and his successors, Pablo
Romo, and Michel Van Aerde. Also thanks
to the many secretarial helpers over the years in Argentina and Rome, Carola
Arrue, Patrizia Morgante, Lorena Mancini, Teresita Alfano, and so many
promoters who have the vision to see the potential of DVI for our Dominican
Family.
I
was gifted by DVI with a project that used all my talents. I need a wide canvas! And there was enough
challenge in this single project to engage all my attention, especially in the
past two years since I came to reside in Rome.
I
was gifted by the Dominicans I have got to know in many countries, at the
interface of their local mission or in responsible positions in their
congregations and provinces. What a
privilege and joy to have been able to
help and support their mission efforts. I was gifted with the friendship of the
group of promoters in Santa Sabina who "widened the space of my tent"
with their far-reaching commitments.
Above
all, my thanks to the forty or so volunteers. whose generosity and enthusiasm
has inspired me since the first one set out in September 2001. You are our global preachers! I wish each of you well, and may our paths
cross again sometime.
One
sows, another waters, but it is God who gives the increase!
