Recent news of Galician birds are published online at Galician

- Greater Sand-plover (Charadrius leschenaultii) at Enseada da Ãnsua,
Ponteceso (NW Galicia) on 31st July, first record for the country and about
fourth for Spain (M. Otero, M. Vidal).
- Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps) at Caque lagoon, Castro de Rei (NE
Galicia) on 26th July, third record for Galicia and sixth for Spain (perhaps
the same bird featured last months in nearby Asturies) (D. Calleja).
- Bulwer's Petrel (Bulweria bulwerii) about 200 miles W of cape VilÃ¡n,
Camarinhas (NW Galicia) on 25th July, one of the few record obtained in
mainland Spain (C. D. Romai, A. Servidio, J. A. VÃ¡zquez).
- Madeiran Storm-petrel (Oceanodroma castro), one or two birds 163 miles W
of Baiona (SW Galicia) on 27th July and one 150 miles W of cape Prior,
Ferrol (N Galicia) on 28th July (C. D. Romai, J. A. MartÃnez).
More records including Pied Crowes (Corvus albus) at O Grove and CariÃ±o
(still there on late July), Wilson's Storm-petrel (Oceanites oceanicus) at
Estaca de Vares cape and offshore atlantic coast of W Galicia, Cinereous
(Aegypius monachus) and Griffon Vultures (Gyps fulvus) at Xistral and
Faladoira mountains and Terra Cha area (NE Galicia) and some rare and scarce
birds in Galicia are detailed in the same web page linked above and also in
"Noticiario OrnitolÃ³xico" pages (www.sgosgo.org).
