About this video:
""Green Flight" is a bilingual, eco travel-adventure web series and documentary, tracking the journey of two pilots, across more than a dozen countries in the Americas, to ignite the youth movement for a sustainable future.
Bildo Saravia is a 23-year-old, from Durango, who emerged unscathed, from the underworld of Mexico's drug wars. He is launching a journey, that will come full circle, to fulfill his vision for the youth of Durango, to choose conservation over corruption; Paul Harvey is his 30-year-old, sky-diving, adrenaline junkie Co-Captain, from Brisbane, Australia who is loves women, and charity runs. Together they are on a quest, to save the world from itself.
They are seeking a new vision for a new generation- a generation ready to confront the challenges of climate change.
Their mission is to seek out age-old wisdom and practical solutions,
for how to live in balance, with the Earth, and with each other.
It will not be easy to "land" their vision of the Green Flight or to inspire others to follow.
Their inspiration will come from their peers- youth who are at the forefront of the Transition, confronting some of the most viral challenges of our time - drugs, war, corruption, violence, poverty, natural disaster - by invoking a radical revitalization of their environment, and a culture of "doing for oneself".
Their guidance and mentorship will come through indigenous wisdom-keepers, social and political leaders from generations who have come before them- as well as eco-villages incubating solutions that are ready to travel to urban environments.
The Green Flight team will build momentum as they travel, making their goal to cross the Atlantic and convene with other youth from the Americas at the COP climate change conference in Durban, South Africa in November
2011.
The Promo Video uploaded here, was shot in ten days, edited in four days, and contains excerpts of conversations with eco-village leaders and ex-hippies who are ready to "pass the baton" to the next generation (the Bildos and Pauls of the world).
The Green Flight promises to be a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, authentic journey of discovery. The social outreach, networking, tweeting/blogging aspect of the trip, is most important.
The "spirit" of the trip, is to IGNITE a VISION, not simply to make a show.
We have an itinerary, a budget, and many more characters and destinations - not featured here.
